In April, we will be meeting on the 8, 15, 22 and 29 to explore the Basic Six exercises of the Bartenieff Fundamentals.

These six basic exercises are simple lifting, lowering, flexing and extending of limbs, segments of limbs or the trunk of the body. This practice is intended to reawaken your awareness of muscles and joints that are not used, used inadequately or misused. With these six basic exercises in your daily practice, you can expand your movement possibilities and find more ease as you move in Space.

To wake with intention, find a space in your home large enough that you can spread out like a six-pointed star on the floor. We will always start at a low level, sitting or laying supine and may progressively change levels through the 30 minutes. Dress to be comfortable moving on the floor, preferably barefooted.
